December

There are two important feast days of Our Lady during the second week of December: The 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation.  The 12th is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The Second Graders made their First Confessions on Monday, December 1 in order to continue preparation for the their First Holy Communion this coming spring.  This should serve as a reminder for all of us that Advent is a time of Preparation and that we should prepare by making a good confession during this season.

October 5 - Our feasibility study is underway! We definitely need your input in order to know how to proceed with our plans. You will receive a mailing this week and we hope that the surveys will be completed and returned by Sunday, October 19 . You can bring it to the parish office or drop it in the Offertory Collection.  (To review the mailed flyer online, click here.)

The drawings in the entry show the front of the
"Foundational Church" and the entrance to the school; the interior of the "Foundational Church"; a floor plan; the first phase site plan and the master plan. These plans can, and most likely will, be modified.

A note of thanks to Jerry Pelker who has done all the work and gotten a lot of equipment and materials donated so that we can at least drive onto our parish property off of Highway N; also thanks to John Kainady who helped him.

Our Bible study of the Acts of the Apostles takes place on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am and Friday evenings at 7:30 pm. Even if you can't make all of the series it is worthwhile attending whatever classes you are able to make.

September 28

Great news! We are ready to start the feasibility study with the Steier Group, our development firm. It is a five week study to get input from all the parishioners about the plan for the first phase of buildings on our property.

Remember, we are not talking about the final church at this point but a beautiful "foundational church" (that will later be turned into a parish hall) and the beginning of a school with parish and school offices.

These plans are provisional and can, and most likely, will be changed as we think and reflect upon our needs.

This is why your thoughts are so important. This is our parish and we need everyone to help as we proceed to build a permanent home for St. Gianna Parish.

You will be asked to participate in either a survey or brief interview. The plans are on display in the vestibule of the church. The parish buildings are very important, but it is the life of faith and love that makes a parish - so please continue to pray!

St Gianna Enshrinement & Presentation with Archbishop Raymond Burke and Mr. Thomas McKenna, the founder of the St. Gianna Physicians Guild - May 31.
