Mission Statement

As Catholics of St. Gianna Parish, in communion with our Archbishop, and our Holy Father, the Bishop of Rome, we are called by Jesus Christ to be His body, the Church, in our local community and to fully live the Gospel.

With faith, hope and charity, we strive to live our discipleship by fervent prayer, inspired worship, sound teaching, and sharing our faith with those in physical and spiritual need.

UPCOMING EVENTS

          First St. Gianna Quilt Social in 2020​ 
If you have any of these items that would  like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it:
  • embroidered blocks
  • quilt tops
  • batting material
  • quilting thread
  • anything that could be used to make a quilt 
Money raised will go toward the parish debt.  You can leave them in the foyer of church, or drop them in the parish office.

If you want to help quilt, we quilt on:
  • Thursdays from 8:30 to noon 
  • First Wednesday of the month from 7-9 p.m.
       Inquiry Classes For Adults - R.C.I.A
Do you or someone you know want to find out about the teachings of the Catholic Church?  Classes are on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Office.

           Young Women's Faith Group
                         Emmaus Group

             Weekly on Tuesday Nights

All young women, ages 18-39, or those Young at Heart, are invited to join the newly formed Emmaus Group at St. Gianna Church.  An Emmaus Group is a small group program offered to young adults in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and to young women at St. Gianna.  This dynamic program is a small, faith sharing community where young adults can walk together on the journey of faith, dive into Scripture and share life with one another. 

Weekly meetings begin with Benediction in the St. Gianna Church on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.  

Prayerfully consider joining our newly formed Emmaus Group and please pray for the young women of St. Gianna forming this new group.  ​Email denisebrickler@gmail.com with questions.

CATHOLIC BOOK CLUB

The book, The Shadow of His Wings: A Graphic Biography of Father Gareon Goldmann by Father Gereon Goldmann, OFM , is the next selection for the STG Book Club.  We will meet to discuss this selection on Tuesday, April 2 2019, in the church office from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.  Father Elliott will join us, also.

That Man Is You

           That Man Is You
                  -Ongoing-

             Saturday mornings  

Wherever you are in life, Jesus Christ wants to meet you there, and take you further.  Whether you are a beginner or a long-practicing Catholic, this program is for you!  That Man Is You is a way to learn your faith, grow in holiness, and meet other men on the journey.  The Battle for the Bride begins on September 15th.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA
TRAVELING STATUE

Our Lady Undoer of Knots Legion of Mary has a traveling statue of Our Lady of Fatima available to any family who would like to schedule a visit. Sign up sheets are on the table in the vestibule of the church or you can call Nancy Battis at 636-751-6147.
PRAYER SHAWLS
Blessed Prayer Shawls are now available at St. Gianna’s thanks to Immaculate Conception Dardenne. If you or someone you know is in need of consolation, healing, guidance, prayers and deliverance from afflictions, please call the parish office, 636-327-3639 to request a shawl. Please provide the name of the prayer shawl recipient so that it can be added to ICD’s book of recipients for continuous prayers. Donations are welcome for the shawls. A typical donation is between $15 - $20.
